Dr. Kimberly Smith, SVP and Head of Research & Development, is dedicated to ending the HIV epidemic through her visionary practices and innovative approach to clinical development. Dr. Smith started her career at as a clinician in Chicago, Illinois at Rush University Medical Center, at the height of the HIV epidemic. There she focused on the impact of gender and racial disparities within the HIV community; she and was one of the few physicians to explore this relationship at the time. Her patient-focused approach to innovative science was established early on in her career on the frontlines of HIV care, as she is now dedicated to advancing industry leading treatment and prevention options for all people living with HIV. In 2022, 30 years after beginning her career as a physician and clinical researcher, Dr. Smith continues to drive the research and development of groundbreaking long-acting and simplified treatment and prevention options that have disrupted the HIV care paradigm.

Alison (Ali) Holland is Head of Decentralized Clinical Trials at Medable and is chartered to design and expand the end-to-end capabilities needed to partially or fully virtualize clinical studies, building on the commitment to reduce clinical trial times by 50%. Ali has over 20 years of experience in a variety of leadership roles, including Feasibility Head and Six Sigma Black Belt at Covance, and Business Head and global General Manager at Roche/Genentech in one of their therapeutic area business groups. Having been engaged in over 300 studies across Biotechs, Pharma, and all geographies, Ali brings an incomparable level of insight and technical excellence on the matter of operational needs for sites and patients.
