IEEE Future Tech Forum: Responsible AI
This special complimentary live 90-minute, virtual event, in partnership with Microsoft, will be held on May 17, 2022, at 12 PM ET. During the event, moderated by Susan Etlinger, a panel of subject matter experts will focus on how industry, regulatory bodies, and policymakers are working together to drive responsible Artificial Intelligence (AI). AI is increasingly touching every aspect of our lives. Data-driven technologies and AI should work for people and society, providing equitable opportunities and benefits. Some decisions that AI algorithms make are fairly benign, while others such as the recruitment process and loan approval have major impacts on individuals. In the past five years, bias in AI has been acknowledged, debated, and researched.

There has been a push to fix AI bias with more diverse training datasets, better processes to test for and mitigate bias in systems, and a more diverse technology team. It’s reasonable to pause and ask – have we really moved the needle in minimizing bias in AI? Join us as we reflect on the successes that we have made and the challenges that we still face in AI bias.
