Edward James
Director of Content and Analysis @MEED
Edward James has been with MEED for more than 15 years, working as a journalist, consultant and research director. Until September 2008 he was MEED’s Gulf Bureau Chief, after which he moved over to head up the consulting arm of the business. For the last four years, he has been responsible for content and research at MEED Projects, the region’s leading projects tracking service. His specific areas of expertise are construction, hydrocarbons, power and water, and the petrochemical market, and is considered one of the foremost experts on the MENA projects market. He is a regular guest commentator on Middle East issues for news channels such as the BBC, CNN and ABC News and is a regular speaker at events in the region. He has an honours degree in Arabic and Middle East Politics.
Faisal Durrani
Faisal is Head of Middle East Research at Knight Frank and he has over 15 years' real estate experience. His most recent role was Head of London Commercial Research for Knight Frank, where he and his team provided consultancy and strategic advisory services to a range of global clientele, including investors, landlords, developers, HNWI, banks and institutions. Faisal’s knowledge and experience spans all real estate sectors and includes key markets across the Middle East and West Africa. Faisal is a well-known commentator in the media and speaks regularly at industry events, including at conferences across the region as well as the UK, Europe and Nigeria. His work in the Middle East this year has focused on the impact of Vision 2030 on Saudi Arabia’s real estate landscape as well the rebounding of Dubai’s luxury homes, office and industrial markets.
Kaveh Samsamy
Partner - Development Management @Knight Frank
Kaveh is a Partner at Knight Frank, responsible for leading the Development Management service line. He has delivered projects totalling over SAR 2.5 Billion in gross development value for blue chip real estate developers in various GCC markets. He has extensive knowledge in master planned mixed use communities, high density residential developments and greenfield residential villa community projects. He has been based in the Middle East since 2006 and has been involved in a number of large scale mixed-use projects with leading real estate developers and (semi) government authorities.
