Postsecondary Pathways | Listening to the NC10
North Carolina is home to roughly 10 percent of the nation’s Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), with 10 public and 10 private HBCUs. While the role of these 10 HBCUs is vital to the history of North Carolina, their recognition is often gone unnoticed. With the support of the John M. Belk Endowment, CREED (The Center for Racial Equity in Education) is leading an initiative called Listening to the NC10. This effort, in partnership with EdNC, myFutureNC, and The Hunt Institute, seeks to have conversations with all 10 HBCUs in North Carolina, including the leadership and students of each college and university, and ultimately lift up the legacies to increase the statewide prominence of the NC10. This webinar will share important takeaways from the NC10 Listening Tour and provide context on the vital role of HBCUs in North Carolina in closing longstanding equity gaps.
