As the U.S. economy continues to adapt to technological changes amid the pandemic, there is an ever-growing demand for skilled labor. To prepare students for an evolving economy, The Hunt Institute in partnership with former West Virginia Gov. Bob Wise has identified a COVID Constituency of individuals and organizations who are in support of transformational educational change, including aligning our education system with workforce needs. How can we best equip students with the right job skills for future success, and what can states do to accelerate these efforts? Following our publication of the COVID Constituency policy brief, “Human Capital for the 21st Century: Aligning Education with Future Workforce Needs,” join us for a conversation around the increasing need for high-quality workforce development initiatives, how these programs can set students up for career or postsecondary education, and how access to these programs is particularly important for historically underserved student populations.
