Group counseling is an art and a skill that many therapists feel unprepared for. Join us to explore the ethics involved in leading different types of groups skillfully and effectively.

Define “Ethics”

Identify differences in ethical expectations between Support, Psychoeducational, and Therapy Groups

Understand the role of supervision and consultation in ethical group practice

Understand the reasons for screening clients for a group

Understand at least 5 aspects of informed consent

Be able to describe what is meant by confidentiality in a group, and potential limitations to confidentiality

Learn when ethical violations can become legal violations

Learn what are the 4 most common areas for ethical violations in groups

This webinar is approved by the Oklahoma State Board of Licensed Social Workers provider #20220014 and will serve as Category 1 credits for all social workers in Oklahoma.

Due to the ongoing consequences of the national COVID-19 pandemic, on February 11, 2022, the Oklahoma State Board of Behavioral Health approved an additional stay of enforcement for all face-to-face CEU requirements, including Ethics and Supervision. All technology assisted CEU’s accrued between January 1, 2022 and December 31, 2022 may count towards the face-to-face renewal requirements, including ethics and supervision, for all current licensure periods, including all webinars offered by The Grief Center.

The Tristesse Grief Center has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No. 7131. Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified.
