This training will focus on an overview of DBT and ways it can be used in a general practice setting to help clients with a wide range of emotional difficulties and challenges, including working with depression, anxiety disorders, addictions, Borderline Personality Disorder, relationship challenges, setting boundaries, and reducing the risk of engaging in harmful behaviors, among many others.
Understand the research behind DBT
Learn the difference between Macro issues and Micro issues, and why skills from DBT can be applied to either.
Be able to list 10 micro issues
Learn skills for mindfulness and why they are considered “Core”
Learn the micro skill of “Turning the Mind” and why it is important
Learn how to practice “Radical Acceptance, and why it is important
Learn an objective process for deciding how firmly for asking for something or setting boundaries
Learn skills for setting boundaries, including DEAR MAN, GIVE, and FAST
Learn decision making skill based on pros and cons.
This webinar is approved by the Oklahoma State Board of Licensed Social Workers provider #20220014 and will serve as Category 1 credits for all social workers in Oklahoma.
