Topic
Ensuring Multi-Gig PON Reliability in the Last Mile
Description
We’re entering the multi-gig fiber broadband era, with 10G PON soon to be the standard. Regardless of speed, today’s service providers must ensure they deliver on their own marketing efforts by meeting customers’ high expectations for a flawless broadband experience.
Join Telecompetitor and VIAVI Solutions for a three-part webinar series, where we’ll examine technical considerations, common challenges, and solutions that will boost the efficiency of customer installs, while helping ensure a broadband experience that meets rising expectations.
Session 1: Testing the Drop (Wednesday, March 1, 2023)
This session will identify the challenges faced at the drop and how to address them, such as:
- Overcoming inconsistent technician craftsmanship
- Characterizing physical issues, including dirty connectors, bad splices, macro bends, and breaks
Session 2: Testing the PON (Wednesday, March 29, 2023)
We’ll examine the prevailing PON technologies used in FTTH and provide guidance on how to best ensure performance when migrating networks to multi-gig PON. You’ll learn:
- Current PON technologies and market trends
- When and where to use broadband power meters vs. PON power meters
Session 3: Testing Multi-Gig Service (Wednesday, April 26, 2023)
This session focuses on helping field technicians be more effective when activating multi-gig network services to ensure a positive experience for the customer. We’ll discuss:
- Industry trends for ONT and customer premise equipment
- Test procedures to help prevent failures and repeat calls
Please note that registering once will register you for the entire three-part series.
