Understanding Our New World - A Conversation with Ambassador Stavros Lambrinidis
Stavros Lambrinidis, the European Union’s ambassador to the United States, will join the Paul Simon Public Policy Institute for a virtual conversation at 10:00 a.m. CT Tuesday, November 2.

Institute Director John Shaw will interview Lambrinidis about his career in government and diplomacy, the challenges and opportunities facing the European Union, and the EU’s relationship with the United States.

Lambrinidis was appointed as the E.U.’s ambassador to the U.S. in March 2019. He has had a nearly 30-year career in public service and government. He previously served as the E.U.’s special representative for human rights, as foreign affairs minister for Greece, and was elected twice to serve in the European Parliament, serving in a variety of leadership roles during his terms.

A native of Athens, Greece, Lambrinidis started his career in the 1980s as an attorney in Washington, D.C., specializing in international trade.

This event is part of the Paul Simon Public Policy Institute’s Understanding Our New World virtual conversation series with government and private sector leaders, policy experts, political analysts, authors, and journalists.
