UGLE institution, VW Bro Graham Redman was called to the Bar in July 1974 and after a period in pupillage and practice, worked in the Legal Department of Dunlop Holdings from 1978.
A mainstay of UGLE, Graham joined in November 1987 as Assistant to the Grand Secretary, becoming Deputy Grand Secretary in 2013. He has served under six Grand Secretaries, sits on the Board of General Purposes, the Committee of General Purposes and the Grand Master's Council, and was singled out for praise by the Pro Grand Master, MW Peter Lowndes, in June's Quarterly Communications, the Pro's last meeting as presiding officer. In the words of the Pro:
"The Board and its Presidents and the Secretariat have all played such an important part in making my life easy, but I am going to be slightly indulgent and single out VW Bro Graham Redman, who over the 27 years since I became Grand Director of Ceremonies, has always been the person I relied on to tell me if I was about to make a howler. He did, of course, revel in doing so and I suspect has saved me from many near calamities."
