All Ireland Chromatin Consortium - Professor Nada Jabado

The All-Ireland Chromatin Consortium was established in 2021 to foster collaborations between researchers located across the whole of Ireland, promote scientific exchange, and to facilitate networking between students, postdocs, and PIs working in the field of chromatin biology.

Keynote Speaker - Professor Nada Jabado, M.D., Ph.D., McGill University, Montreal, Canada

Presentation Title: Histone Mutations in Cancer and Neurodegeneration

Bio: Nada Jabado, MD, PhD, is a Professor of Paediatrics at McGill University and a paediatric neuro-oncologist at the Montreal Children’s Hospital. She pioneered a research program in paediatric brain tumours at McGill where her group identified a new molecular mechanism driving paediatric high grade gliomas, namely recurrent somatic driver mutations in the tail of histone 3 variants (H3.3 and H3.1), which has created a paradigm shift in cancer with the identification of histone mutations in human disease.
