Assessing State Competitiveness: A Discussion with CNBC's Scott Cohn on Massachusetts' Business & Economic Climate
The Massachusetts High Technology Council invites you to join us at noon on Wednesday, September 28 for a virtual Policy Series discussion with CNBC Special Correspondent Scott Cohn, focused on Massachusetts’ current competitive position. MKS Instruments President and CEO, John T.C. Lee, Ph.D., and Managing Principal of Ernst & Young's Boston Office, Jane Steinmetz will join Cohn for the discussion.

Cohn, the creator of CNBC’s America's Top States for Business, the widely cited competitiveness rankings that score all 50 states on over 85 measures of competitiveness, will provide insight into how Massachusetts fared in the 2022 rankings and examine key factors influencing the direction in which the Commonwealth is trending relative to other states.

The program will also feature key state competitiveness and workforce findings in the Council’s dynamic data platform, Massachusetts Technology, Talent and Economic Reporting System (MATTERS™) Originally launched in 2015 in partnership with the Worcester Polytechnic Institute, the Council developed MATTERS™ to advance our mission to make Massachusetts the world’s most attractive place to live and work, and in which to create and grow businesses within the innovation ecosystem. The reconfigured version of MATTERS™ expands the platform with an updated design for sleek visualization and new features for accessibility.

Data highlights from MATTERS™ will inform the discussion to profile Massachusetts' economic competitiveness, talent, and business environment in the national context. The hour-long online event will close with a Q&A.

Register today to hear important perspectives on where Massachusetts is leading in its economic and business climate, and where there is room for improvement, compared to other states.
