Expanding End of Life Options in Minnesota
The Minnesota End-of-Life Options Act, modeled after the Oregon Death with Dignity law, is a bill to authorize medical aid in dying, which gives terminally ill adults of sound mind the option tp receive medication they may self-ingest for a peaceful death if their suffering becomes intolerable. It is currently available in 10 states and the District of Columbia. Using the LWV Utah 2016 report, Death with Dignity, and an updated addendum, the LWV End-of-Life Option Committee will provide an overview of the topic, summarize the available data, and answer your questions. The LWV Minneapolis is seeking concurrence on the LWV Utah position in 2022.

Speaker: Dr. Rebecca Thoman directs the Doctors for Dignity program for Compassion & Choices and is a member of the LWV Minneapolis.
