Kīpahulu ʻOhana ʻOpihi Rest Area: Making ʻOpihi Momona Again
For the community of Kīpahulu, on Maui, one non-profit called the Kīpahulu ʻOhana, seeks to use the wisdom of their kūpuna (elders) to re-establish a traditional sustainable lifestyle in their community. The Kīpahulu ʻOhana ʻOpihi Rest Area is a project which focuses on a voluntary community no-take zone or ʻopihi sanctuary for a section of shoreline adjacent to Haleakalā National Park.
