Co-Occurring Treatment Services: Contingency Management

Description

Contingency Management is an evidence-based treatment for individuals with substance use disorder and co-occurring mental health disorders. Though traditionally used in outpatient settings, it has been successfully adapted to correctional treatment and RSAT programs. Staff from the Nevada Department of Corrections will share how they have implemented Contingency Management into their RSAT programs, what treatment outcomes they have seen, and challenges with implementation.

• Identify three principles of motivational incentives.
• Name five examples of target behaviors and reinforcers.

She is also the former Substance Abuse Lead Counselor for Wells Center within Illinois Department of Corrections as well as an Adjunct Professor in IL for a community college. Ms. Feese has 17 years of experience in addiction, behavioral health, and corrections field, holds state licensure for co-occurring (LCADC) disorders, and a mental health licensure in NV and IL (CPC), as well as a national certification in counseling (NCC). She holds a Master of Arts degree in Human Development Counseling. Ms. Feese has also earned national recognition for implementation of evidenced based principles for corrections programs.
