Join us Tuesday, May 24th at 7:30pm for an expert presentation on the crisis in abortion access, with a special focus on how advocates for single payer national health insurance, improved Medicare for All, and our state level single payer bill, the New York Health Act, can and must fight for reproductive health justice in general, and – at this critical moment – access to abortion care.
Now more than ever, with the Supreme Court poised to overturn Roe v. Wade, the rights of birthing people are under attack in this country. PNHP-NY Metro upholds the key components of Reproductive Justice as defined by SisterSong: “the human right to maintain personal bodily autonomy, have children, not have children, and parent the children we have in safe and sustainable communities.”
Our fight for universal health care must include comprehensive reproductive healthcare for all - including abortion. Abortion is a safe procedure when conducted by skilled professionals; we refuse to go back to those terrible pre-Roe days when women in the U.S. – especially poor women and women of color – were maimed or killed by back-alley abortions.
We won’t go back! We will fight back! Come hear how, from experts and activists.
