ED E&M Documentation Highlights for 2023

ED physicians have expressed that they are looking for guidance on what needs to be documented to allow their coding staff to accurately assign E&M codes for their services in 2023. Instead of learning the coding process step by step, they have said, “just tell me what you need me to document”.

This presentation has been created to address that issue. This 30-minute presentation will focus on what needs to be documented in the ED records so the coding staff will have the information they need to determine the corrected E&M codes in 2023
