Following the release of the second Fundraising in Sport for Development, State of the Sector Report, Oaks Consultancy are thrilled to be hosting another series of webinars to discuss the key findings and share insights from some of the leading voices in the sector.
The theme for this first event will be grant funding: do we need to/how do we reduce the sector’s overreliance on grants from trusts and foundations?
Join Luke Southall, Managing Director at Oaks Consultancy, as he hosts a panel discussion with industry leaders to discuss the implications of the sport for development sector's dependence on grant funding, and how organisations might approach income diversification moving forward.
Joining Luke on the discussion panel will be:
• David Given-Sjolander from the Swedish Postcode Lottery Foundation. As Project Manager and Strategic Lead: Sport for Social Change, David has partnered with over 100 organisations and developed the Foundation’s strategy on the use of sport for sustainable development.
• Keri Mcdonald from TAFISA. Keri has over 15 years of experience working within the public, not for profit and educational sectors in the UK and Australia to increase sport and physical activity opportunities for all citizens, with an emphasis on marginalised and vulnerable groups.
• Drew Chafetz has combined a passion for soccer and social enterprise to become one of the foremost experts in engaging and mobilising communities through sport. In 2006, shortly after returning from a trip to Morocco where he witnessed children playing soccer in danger, Drew co-founded and has since served as CEO of love.fútbol, a nonprofit that partners with communities worldwide to create, reclaim, and redefine sports spaces as lasting platforms for social good.
