Building Your Parent Toolkit, One Strategy at a Time. Session One: Managing Challenging Behavior

For parents of toddlers through 5th graders

Parents need a “strategies toolkit” to manage their child’s challenging behaviors and to promote the child’s independence. The content of each tool kit is different, depending on the child’s particular needs. When deciding which strategies to use, it is critical for parents to determine what motivates their child as well as to explore the reasons why their child continues to rely on challenging behaviors to communicate their needs and wants.
