Project Abraham is pleased to announce the return of its wildly popular book club, featuring two outstanding Canadian writers. See below for the authors who will be featured on Thursday, October 14th, and 28th at 7 pm. Most of you will recognize both names.
Emma Donoghue’s novel, Room, was turned into an Oscar-winning movie. Emma is currently in Ireland where her novel, The Wonder, is also being made into a movie. On Thursday, October 14 at 7 p.m., Ms. Donoghue will be joining us to discuss her latest novel, The Pull of the Stars.
Then, on Thursday, October 28 at 7 p.m., and fresh from her return from the Vancouver Writer’s Festival, Mona Awad will be joining us to discuss her latest novel, All’s Well. Ms. Awad’s first novel (Thirteen Ways of Looking at a Fat Girl) won the Amazon First Novel Award and was shortlisted for the Giller Prize. See if you agree with Margaret Atwood, who tweeted about All’s Well: “Dear Readers: This is one wild book!”
And as an added bonus, video recordings of all our 2021 Book Club interviews will also be sent exclusively to all registrants to this event! These recordings will include interviews with Jennifer Robson, the USA Today and Globe & Mail bestselling author, and award-winning author Cory Doctorow.
A registered charitable tax receipt will be emailed to you after registration.
WHO WE ARE
In 2015, Project Abraham was initiated by a small group of members of the Toronto community to help bring Yezidis to Canada. Project Abraham has since become an independent registered charity with over 300 volunteers helping the most vulnerable refugees in the GTA.
