A Virtual Evening with Sandra Laronde & Duncan McCue
Join author Sandra Laronde and CBC’s Duncan McCue as they discuss Sandra’s debut novel, She Holds Up the Stars, a moving coming-of-age story in which a young Indigenous girl searching for a sense of home finds strength and courage in her gifts, her deepening connection to the land, and her own cultural awakening. Sandra Laronde is originally from the Teme-Augama Anishinaabe (People of the Deep Water) in Temagami, Northern Ontario. An accomplished arts innovator and cultural leader, Sandra has conceived, developed, produced, and disseminated many award-winning productions. She is the founder and Executive & Artistic Director of Red Sky Performance, a leading company of contemporary Indigenous performance worldwide.

Award-winning journalist Duncan McCue has been with CBC News for over two decades and is the host of Kuper Island, an eight-part podcast on residential schools. In his more than two decades with CBC News, he has hosted Cross Country Checkup and been a longstanding correspondent for CBC-TV’s flagship news show, The National.
