The theme of the Malabo Montpellier Panel’s forthcoming report, which will be launched at this meeting of the Malabo Montpellier Forum on December 5 2022, focuses on policy innovations to unlock climate adaptation finance for Africa’s food systems transformation.
The launch will take place directly after COP27 and thereby provides an opportune moment to reflect on the outcomes of the negotiations as well as to draw a roadmap of action and support to African countries seeking to mobilize climate adaptation flows for their food systems in close alignment with the African Union Climate Change and Resilient Development Strategy and Action Plan (2022-2032).
The Malabo Montpellier Forum will be held in a hybrid format in Dakar, Senegal, on December 5, 2022, and online. The Forum is jointly organized by the Malabo Montpellier Panel and the Centre de Suivi Écologique (CSE).
The meeting of the Forum will be held in three parts: a technical part drawing on the findings and recommendations from the Panel, a second part which will be a policy roundtable composed of senior representatives from African governments, development partners, civil society, and the private sector and a third part dedicated to reactions and reflections on the way forward.
