Stepping Up To Support Young Afghans - A Virtual Event
** Please note the timing of this event has been changed to 12:30pm - 1:30pm EDT **

Last month, Canada made a bold commitment to resettle 40,000 Afghan refugees. The government will need Canadian individuals and institutions to step up and lend a hand if it is to meet that goal.

WUSC’s Student Refugee Program is one such initiative that empowers individual students, teachers and staff to sponsor young refugees to resettle in Canada and continue their education. In response to Canada’s recent commitment, WUSC has invited members of the Canadian post-secondary education community to join or increase their support to the Student Refugee Program as a way to support the resettlement and education needs of displaced Afghan youth.

Join us to hear more about this ambitious initiative and how we can all make a difference in the lives of displaced youth. During this event, Afghan students and graduates of our Student Refugee Program will discuss the current situation in Afghanistan, including the impacts this crisis is having on young people and women. We will also present WUSC’s plan to support the arrival of more Afghan student refugees in Canada for the 2022-2023 academic year, and how you can get involved!

Discover the many ways in which you can help make a difference.
