Health Equity and Anti-Indigenous Racism
Systemic anti-Indigenous racism and colonial history have had significantly detrimental impacts on the mental health and wellbeing of Indigenous children, youth, families and communities. These inequities have had significant repercussions in the child and youth mental health system and are also prevalent in connected sectors such as justice and healthcare. This webinar will explore the history of systemic racism faced by Indigenous communities in Canada and will discuss the importance of addressing these deeply-rooted inequities in order to improve mental health outcomes for and provide culturally appropriate services to Indigenous children, youth, and families.
