Description
The DVC Elevating Voices speaker series seeks to amplify the voices and needs of organizations that provide support to groups under attack, to promote cross-group conversations and alliances, and to lift up action models for us to consider as we think about how to use our own power.
Please join us for a special DVC Elevating Voices webinar with Mariana Haro, Rapid Response Network Manager, Amigos de Guadalupe Center for Justice and Empowerment.
Our immigrant communities and families are under threat from the Trump administration. What can we do? The Rapid Response Network in Santa Clara County is a community defense project developed to protect immigrant families from deportation threats and to provide accompaniment and support during and after a community member’s arrest or detention. It relies on volunteers to do this work. Mariana Haro will introduce and describe the Network, answer questions about the program and how you can help, and inform us about opportunities for broader training. Learn more at amigoscenter.com/rapid-respon.
This Democratic Volunteer Center (DVC) event is co-sponsored by Bay Area Coalition, Peninsula Democratic Coalition (PDC), San Mateo County Democratic Party, Santa Clara County Democratic Party, Sister District Peninsula, and Sister District South Bay. The event is FREE, but donations and volunteer signups at demvolctr.org are always greatly appreciated.
