Madame Lulu's Octoroons
This play is written by Jamal Williams and directed by Nakia v. DeAndadre.

It is the year, 1920, in glorious New Orleans, and a new man (white gangster), Johnny “Pretty boy” Clement is invited by Madame Lulu to help her get her failing finances together.

Madame Lulu has a harem of 9 beautiful Octoroons that makes her establishment a much-wanted and valued whorehouse in the city of New Orleans. We, the audience, will only get to witness five of the beautiful women in this tale of subterfuge. Miss Lulu is patterned after a very real New Orleans Madame and she keeps it quiet from her staff that this gangster is really here to take over her business.
