Sleep is a vital dimension of our health and well-being. In addition, our bodies have multiple clocks that become de-synchronised in our increasingly complex world and impact our ability to perform as effectively as we could. Yet, sleep is often overlooked in comparison to other pillars of health such as diet and exercise. In this webinar we will explore the science behind sleep and body clocks, the impact of shift work on sleep and discuss some ways to maximise well-being, productivity and performance.

Facer-Childs (Head of Research & Translation @St Kilda Football Club) Dr Elise R. Facer-Childs is an international expert in the field of sleep, biological rhythms and performance with a particular focus on individual differences. A key feature of her work is to recognise how there is no ‘one size fits all’ and develop personalised approaches to improving sleep, well-being and performance. She conducted her training in the UK where she obtained a Masters and PhD and currently leads the Sleep & Performance Research Program as a STEM+ Business Fellow at Monash University. Dr Facer-Childs is also the Director of Research and Translation at the Danny Frawley Centre for Health and Wellbeing, St Kilda Football Club. Dr Facer-Childs is the founder of Peak Sleep to Elite, a business which provides bespoke courses, sleep coaching programs and consultancy services. She currently works with elite sporting organisations and business to help professional athletes and individuals optimise sleep and biology rhythms to enhance health, productivity and performance.
