World Patient Safety Day 2024, themed “Improving Diagnosis for Patient Safety” with the slogan “Get it right, make it safe!”, emphasizes the importance of accurate and timely diagnosis in healthcare. Diagnostic errors, including delays, incorrect, or missed diagnoses, significantly impact patient safety and health outcomes. This event will address systemic and cognitive factors that contribute to diagnostic errors, such as communication failures, heavy workloads, and clinician biases. By uniting healthcare leaders, patient safety advocates, and stakeholders, we aim to enhance diagnostic safety through collaborative efforts. Established in 2019, World Patient Safety Day is observed annually on September 17 to highlight critical areas in healthcare. The 2024 theme focuses on improving diagnostic practices to tackle global challenges in healthcare delivery, especially in the Asia Pacific region. Join us on September 14 for a panel discussion organized by the Patient Academy for Innovation and Research, Patients for Patient Safety Network-Asia Pacific, and DakshamA Health, to foster awareness and drive action for better diagnostic accuracy and patient care.
