WISE Ways to Lead webinar: Define your role in the refugee crisis
Description
After the success of our WISE Ways to Lead webinars last year, we're delighted to announce our first session for this year.
We were relying on 2022 to finally bring some positive news. But the war in Ukraine has made the global refugee crisis even more stark – one in every 95 people on earth has fled their home as a result of conflict or persecution. What does this mean for those of us working in the social impact space?
On Thursday 16 June from 1-2pm, we'll explore some of the challenges facing refugees in the UK, and what social entrepreneurs and the WISE community – whatever sector you work in – can do to support them.
Isobelle Ford, who supports refugee entrepreneurs to start, grow and finance their businesses through her work with TERN, Anqa Collective and Skylight Ventures – and who was named a leading woman in social enterprise on this year's WISE100 list – will lead our discussion.
- What hurdles do refugees face when starting a business – and what can you do right now to support them?
- What should you consider when working with refugees in your organisation?
- How can you best share your professional experience and networks?
As always, this will be a punchy, practical lunchtime session focused on skills-sharing and networking, hosted by Pioneers Post and NatWest. There will be a short presentation from Isobelle (read more about her below) followed by plenty of time for questions and conversation.
Join us between 1pm and 2pm on Thursday 16 June to connect with this powerful community of women leaders in social enterprise.
From the teams at Pioneers Post and NatWest S&CC
