The goal of this webinar is to increase business demand and commitment to sustainable trade and investment in FSC-certified tropical timber products across the Asia Pacific region in order to protect the world's forests. Unsustainable tropical timber trade and investment have been the drivers of forest degradation and deforestation. As a trusted nature-based solution, FSC helps businesses mitigate sourcing risks and achieve their sustainability commitments. FSC also partners with UN-REDD Program to promote sustainable tropical timber trade by establishing a trade network and an information hub.
This webinar is going to examine how both demand and supply in the region respond to the sustainable forest trade call. We would like to showcase responsible wood sourcing from the demand side, e.g., retailers and building project developers, who demonstrate positive impacts to the value chains and their operations. On the other hand, how the suppliers adopt FSC certification to gain access to overseas markets. We hope this webinar will attract businesses and associations to join our Sustainable Tropical Timber Trade Network.
