Community based biodiversity protection
Indigenous people and local communities are the best guardians of biodiversity and nature, but their territories, cultures and lives are under constant threat and attack. Communities in many areas in our countries been resisting the violent exploitation of their resources while the majority of the communities are ignorant about it. Mining affected communities, forest dependent communities, are at threat to due to commercialization and expropriation of the resources which has led to the biodiversity loss and ecological crisis. The is need enhance community Control over land, commons, and other natural resources as a means to protect biodiversity while enhancing and securing local livelihoods.
