The project Action for Health and Equity: Addressing medical Deserts – or AHEAD – aims to reduce health inequalities by addressing the challenge of medical deserts and medical desertification in Europe. Medical deserts are areas with limited health services, resulting in unmet health needs of the population. They can exacerbate health inequalities, mostly affecting vulnerable groups.
Successful implementation of health workforce policies requires strong inter-sectoral governance and consensus building among the different stakeholders involved. During our webinar on January 27th, we will discuss how AHEAD's participatory consensus building methodology can contribute to successful collaboration on developing policy options to tackle medical deserts. Representatives from the AHEAD country teams will also share their experience with applying our methodology in Italy, Moldova, the Netherlands, Romania and Serbia during the panel discussion.
