Basics of Innovation Procurement
How do we create the solutions for tomorrow that are of great benefit for both humans and the environment?

Innovation procurement is potentially one of the more powerful innovation policy instruments currently available. It describes problems that shall be solved or functions that shall be fulfilled by means of procurement, rather than the products to be purchased. It works from the demand side and it is powerful for two reasons. Firstly, the volume of public procurement is enormous (15% or more of global GDP), which is many times larger than the world expenditure on Research and Development! Secondly, this approach to public procurement can influence not only the speed but also the direction of innovation processes.

Procure4Health is a community of European health and social care-focused organizations that work together, share experiences, build relationships, and receive expert advice free of charge.

In this webinar, Björn Lagnevik, Innovation Manager at Innovation Skåne, will introduce the main aspects of innovation procurement and its importance. The aim of this session is to increase awareness regarding the benefits of the innovation procurement in the healthcare sector.
