MIKE 21 Mooring Analysis (MA) – Maximise berth utilisation and safety, minimise costly downtime
Description
A core duty of port and harbour operations is to maximise berth utilisation while ensuring the safety of ships, terminals and personnel at all times. When ship motions exceed certain criteria, safe working limits and safe mooring limits are at risk of being exceeded. To prevent dangerous conditions at vessel berths (and terminals) and minimise costly downtime, a detailed description of vessel responses in often energetic environmental conditions is required.
Numerical modelling is a cost-effective method of simulating complex wave processes and associated wave forces on moored vessels and ultimately, calculating ship motions of moored vessels at berths and terminals.
Join this 45-minute webinar for a brief overview of mooring principles and the benefits of using dynamic mooring analysis software such as MIKE 21 Mooring Analysis (MA). You’ll be introduced to different types of moored vessels likely to be encountered in MIKE 21 MA projects, the fundamentals of mooring systems and recommended ship motion criteria for safe working conditions on moored vessels.
By the end of the webinar, you’ll better understand how MIKE 21 MA can help you:
- Improve the efficiency of load operations by simulating passing vessel impact on moored vessels
- Optimise mooring configurations by rapidly testing several mooring options under a wide range of environmental conditions
- Evaluate equipment design under realistic conditions
- Easily visualise and present vessel motions and mooring system performance through the creation of powerful 3D animations
