The session will explore how policies and interventions can raise awareness of and address the hidden environmental, health, and other costs of food systems. The discussion will present various approaches, including fiscal measures, accountability measures for the private sector, and approaches that improve producers and consumers’ awareness and agency. The challenges and opportunities offered by these different approaches will be discussed from a political economy perspective.
