Loddon Mallee Regional Information Session | Planning development of Renewable Energy Zones and Victoria's Future Grid

Join our online public information session to hear about our proposed approach for how best to plan and develop Victoria’s electricity grid and Renewable Energy Zones (REZs) as we transition from coal-fired power to renewable energy.

About this event
REZs are areas rich in renewable resources, such as wind, solar and water, which are well-placed to develop large scale generation to enable the state to transition away from coal-fired power to renewable energy.

The Victorian Government has recently released the Victorian Transmission Investment Framework (VTIF) consultation paper and summary for communities. This preliminary framework sets out a proposed approach for developing REZs that enables timely co-ordination of investment in transmission, generation, and storage infrastructure. The approach seeks to better integrate land use considerations, environmental impacts, and community views into the planning process.
