Client Portals: A Key Client Service and Information Security Tool
Description
Email is not secure. Encryption and other tools can make it more secure. But you want a system that both you and your clients can easily use. Many cloud-based practice management tools offer client portals as one of their many features. There are also free-standing software tools that can be used to create portals. Well-developed law firm client portals provide greater security than email, but also provide a valuable client service. At a minimum, clients can log in anytime to review all the documents that you have uploaded concerning their matter. But other features can be added. As business has gone increasingly online, the client portal becomes in effect another location of the law firm-- a digital lobby. You wouldn't want a haphazard appearance in your law firm entryway, and you do not want that for client portal. This presentation will discuss why client portals are so important today and what new features enterprising law firms may be adding soon.
