Intro to Genealogy Session7: Finding Your Ancestors in Land Records

This webinar will focus on Alberta Homestead Records with some information on other land records in Western Canada. To find your ancestors on their Alberta homesteads you must first understand why and how the land was surveyed and how records of land ownership were kept.

The webinar will include a demonstration of the databases where land records are indexed and give examples of the rich information contained in the records. You will be provided with information on how to acquire paper copies or digital images of your ancestors’ land records. The webinar will conclude with generous time for questions.

Registration Fee: $10 for AGS members, $20 for non-members

Notice to Non-Members: As we are unable to charge two rates for this webinar (member and non-member), the member rate will be charged when registering. You will then be contacted regarding payment of the balance.
