This webinar provides an opportunity to learn about the two candidates on the November 2022 ballot. Sara Aminzadeh and Damon Connolly are vying to represent District 12 (Marin and southern Sonoma) in the California State Assembly. Attendees will have an opportunity to ask the candidates questions.

Sara Aminzadeh
California Coastal Commissioner
SARA AMINZADEH is a nationally recognized, award-winning climate change leader and lawyer. Over the past two decades, Sara has championed clean water and climate action, focusing on protecting our communities from devastating wildfires, extreme drought, and rising sea levels. Sara advocates for a woman’s right to choose, increased access to quality health care and mental health access, responsible transportation alternatives, and economic development, focusing on clean energy and other sustainable businesses. In twenty years of public service working as an environmental advocate working at the state level, as well as locally, she has written, and helped pass roughly 50 pieces of legislation, as well as key agency policies and practices. She served on President Biden's Campaign Infrastructure Advisory Committee, and is an author and commentator on water, climate, and other environmental policy issues. Sara is a first-time candidate, mom to 4-year-old Henry, and lives in Kentfield.
Damon Connolly
Marin County Supervisor
DAMON CONNOLLY has represented San Rafael and its surrounding areas for 18 years in various capacities and has served as its representative on the Marin County Board of Supervisors since 2015. On the Marin Board of Supervisors, Damon has been a fearless and effective advocate for our values and our community. He has protected open spaces while increasing the availability of affordable housing. He has set our county on a path toward 100% renewable energy while keeping our fiscal house in order. He has spearheaded our response to homelessness while expanding access to public transit and infrastructure for bicyclists and pedestrians. Prior to serving on the Board of Supervisors, Damon served the residents of District 1 in various capacities: as the Vice Mayor of San Rafael, a two-term San Rafael City Councilmember, and former School Board President. Damon was a founding board member of Marin Clean Energy (MCE) and served as Chair of the Board of Directors from June 2011 to November 2014.
