Inequity in Access to Healthcare: the ones we talk about…and the ones we don’t
Nadine R. Caron, MD, MPH, FRCSC, is the 2022 Royal College Professor-in-Residence. Her lecture will explore the inequity in access to healthcare.
Dr. Caron is a Professor at UBC Northern Medical Program and Dep't of Surgery; Co-Director at UBC Centre for Excellence in Indigenous Health First Nations Health Authority and Chair, Cancer and Wellness at UBC Special Advisor on Indigenous Health; UBC Health and Faculty of Medicine.
1. Reflect on our standard approach with patients on the diagnostic journey.
2. Gain an understanding of how inequity in patient experiences and outcomes can commence early in doctor-patient relationships.
3. Improve understanding of where we "hang our shingle" for our medical practice.
