Washington King Tides Program and Sea Level Rise
Learn about the natural conditions that create king tides, an overview of the Washington King Tides Program, projected sea level rise for Port Townsend, and local efforts to monitor king tides and document total water levels. A demonstration on how to use MyCoast for contributing your observations on king tides will also be provided. This speaker event is co-hosted by the Jefferson County Marine Resources Committee and the Port Townsend Marine Science Center.

About the speakers:

Bridget Trosin is Washington Sea Grant's Coastal Policy Specialist. She runs the Washington King Tides Program and conducts outreach and research to support the Clean Vessel Act program. She loves everything about the water: the fresh sea air, the natural beauty, the critters and the people who depend on it. Bridget lives with her husband, two small children, 7 chickens, 2 sheep, a bulldog and a farm cat in Whatcom County.

Dave Wilkinson is a marine weather instructor for Washington Sea Grant, Northwest Maritime Center, Starpath School of Navigation, and Seattle Sailing Club. Dave also serves on the joint City of Port Townsend / Jefferson County Climate Action Committee and volunteers for the Local 20/20 Climate Action Group.
