Are Groundwater Issues Being Addressed in the Santa Ynez Valley? A Presentation by Bill Buelow of the SY River Water Conservation District
On July 8th at 7:00 p.m., WE Watch and the Santa Ynez Valley Natural History Society are co-sponsoring a Zoom presentation by Bill Buelow of the Santa Ynez River Water Conservation District (SYRWCD) on the status of groundwater planning in the Santa Ynez Valley as required by California’s SGMA. Bill Buelow is the Groundwater Program Manager at the SYRWCD. The plan development is being led by SYRWCD in conjunction with local water agencies, especially the cities of Solvang, Buellton and Lompoc, along with SYRWCD-ID#1, and the Santa Barbara County Water Agency. At SYRWCD, Mr. Buelow is directly involved in the development of three separate groundwater plans for the Santa Ynez Valley’s western (Lompoc), central (Buellton), and eastern (Solvang and Santa Ynez) sub-areas.
