In 2017 he co-founded Study Abroad Association and is currently the Head of Innovation, where he oversees the creation of academic virtual global content for SAA’s 360 GLE™ (Global Learning Experiences) platform. Christian earned a bachelor’s degree in Management from City University of Seattle in Bratislava and has worked with over 250 institutions and helped over 12,000 students to study abroad on educational faculty-led programs. Domenica Diraviam (Senior Instructional Designer, Italian & French Instructor @Broward College) Dr. Domenica Diraviam is a published scholar on Italian American studies, an Italian and French educator, and an instructional designer of interdisciplinary online and blended courses. She has been involved in facilitating and designing faculty led study abroad experiences to Italy since 2010, a dream that was born out of her three study abroad experiences as a college student. In addition to leading travel/study programs, she incorporates virtual exchanges and guides learners through GLE 360 experiences to bolster her commitment to fostering cultural appreciation and encouraging global citizenship in the courses she teaches and designs. Catie Miller (Global Programs Coordinator, Center for Global Learning @Oklahoma State University) Catie Miller is the Global Programs Coordinator with the Center for Global Learning at Oklahoma State University. Prior to moving (back) to Oklahoma, where she obtained her B.S. in Recreation Management and M.S. in Educational Leadership – College Student Development from Oklahoma State University, Catie worked in outdoor education at Illinois State University, Northern Arizona University, and the National Outdoor Leadership School with a focus on teambuilding and facilitation, risk management, and leadership development. Having lived abroad and studied abroad, she is a firm believer that all students should experience studying abroad to gain valuable and transferable life skills, inside and outside of the classroom. Jean Scheppers (Associate Professor of Spanish @College of Central Florida) Jean Scheppers is a professor, linguist, and interpreter. She began her career as a Spanish language interpreter and then a supervisor of interpreters for FEMA in 1980. She went on to teach Spanish Language and Literature for twenty years at the University of Wisconsin – Platteville, interrupted only by a scholarship offer to study and teach at Temple University in Philadelphia in a two-year experimental Spanish program that focused on minimizing grammar instruction and learning and practicing language in context. Jean specializes in the effect of adult anxiety on learning and the importance of cultural context in effective language use. She is currently teaching Spanish at the College of Central Florida and for nearly a decade regularly participated in the CF Study Abroad Program, traveling with students and teaching in the summer FORSPRO program in Madrid.
