Public Hearing for Marina Construction/Wetland Fill; Allegan County; EGLE Application/Submission HPC-JEM9-EXPBJ

David DeGroot, 59th Street, Fennville, MI, 49408, has applied to this office for a permit under authority of Part 301, Inland Lakes and Streams, and Part 303, Wetlands Protection, of the Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Act, 1994 PA 451, as amended (NREPA). The applicant proposes to:
• Construct a marina on Hutchins Lake bottomland and wetland by:
o Installing a permanent open pile dock extending perpendicular to the shore a maximum length of 61 feet and is a maximum width of 6 feet, with a finger pier that is a maximum length of 14 feet and a maximum width of 4 feet.
o Permanent open pile dock shall have an additional portion over wetland that is a maximum length of 15 feet and is a maximum width of 6 feet.
o Connect a seasonal open pile dock to the permanent finger pier that is a maximum length of 106 feet and a maximum width of 4 feet, with 6 seasonal finger piers that are each 15 feet long and 3 feet wide.
o Proposed marina shall have a total number of six boat slips, and approximately 60 linear feet of broadside dockage.
• Place approximately 29 cubic yards of clean offsite sand in wetland in an area approximately 35 feet long, 15 feet wide, and 1.5 feet deep.
• Total wetland impact is approximately 0.01 acre; no mitigation is proposed.
