Opening Remarks by H.E. Ambassador Luis Gallegos (Ecuador), G3ict Board of Directors. Join moderator Mohammed A. Loutfy, Ph.D. (G3ict), and panelists Matt Ater (Vispero), Trevor Prevatt (Caribbean Telecommunications Union), Carmen Millán (ONCE Foundation) and Tania Athanasia Kalaitzidis (CUNY - City University of New York) for a session examining examples of States Parties to the CRPD and large organizations that successfully support persons with reading disabilities by scaling up the free distribution, maintenance, and support of screen reader technology with a centralized national or organization-wide license, training, and maintenance setup.
A result of creative public-private partnerships, easily replicable by States Parties, these initiatives bring tremendous added value to Persons with Disabilities, enhancing their opportunities for education, employment, and access to different data formats of public knowledge resources, e-books, and website-based platforms.
