New Zealand with Colin Mairs

Known to the Māori people as “The Land of the Long White Cloud” and to Lord of the Rings fans as Middle Earth, New Zealand is a country rich with indigenous culture, gorgeous fjords, lush rainforests, and serene beaches. Rick Steves tour guide Colin Mairs, who relocated from his native Scotland to New Zealand, takes us on a tour of his adopted homeland—from glowworm caves to Victorian towns and from Māori cultural sites to “the Edinburgh of the South.” Accompanying our tour is a Kiwi feast of pavlova, Anzac biscuits, and New Zealand wine.
