Meeting the Need: Dismantling Barriers to Behavioral Health Access for People Experiencing Homelessness in NYC
There is ever increasing need to evaluate both the availability and efficacy of behavioral health services for people experiencing homelessness in NYC. As several sectors engage in the process of identifying ways to improve access we want to ensure that both the conversations and policy recommendations focus on addressing the systemic barriers to care without further stigmatizing individuals with behavioral health needs.

In this panel we will discuss some of the most prominent gaps in behavioral health access and how we can address the shortcomings of the current system. What investments and/or policy changes do we need to achieve these goals? How can we adjust coordination models between health care and homeless service providers to ensure continuity of care and treatment? And how do we consider the ongoing effects of the pandemic?
