EUSOBI Webinar 3.5: De-escalation of breast cancer treatments in low risk patients
Speaker: Icro Meattini, Florence/IT
Moderators: Matthew Wallis, Cambridge/UK; Mirjam Wielema, Groningen/NL
Date: Wednesday, May 25, 2022

Overdiagnosis and overtreatment represent great challenges in modern treatment for breast cancer. During the last decades several trials aiming less radiation therapy have been performed: reduction of overall treatment course (hypofractionation), reduction of overall treatment courses and breast target volumes (partial breast irradiation), omission of radiotherapy (whole breast and/or tumour bed boost).

The webinar is aimed at breast radiologists, radiology residents/juniors, medical or PhD students, nuclear medicine physicians or medical/clinical/radiation oncologists who want to improve their skills in:
– Radiation oncology schedule for early breast cancer
– Partial breast irradiation
– Tumour bed radiation therapy boost
– Hypofractionation in breast cancer treatment

After watching the webinar, participants will be able to:
– De-escalate treatments in early breast cancer
– Avoid overtreatment in patients affected by breast cancer
