People on the ground, however, see and experience things differently. This event breaks down the impacts of pesticides on human health and the natural environment by presenting experiences from the ground with a particular focus on women. What are the real impacts of pesticides, and who are the direct victims of pesticide use? How can we challenge the hegemonic science that downplays the impacts of pesticides on health and affirm the voices of the affected?

Los gigantes de los agrotóxicos mantienen una narrativa científica particular y reducida sobre los impactos de los agrotóxicos, posicionada gracias a una fuerte inversión en publicidad. Sin embargo, las personas en los territorios ven y experimentan sus impactos de distintas formas. Este evento presenta y analiza los impactos de los agrotóxicos en la salud humana y el medio ambiente, a partir de experiencias desde el territorio y con un enfoque especial en las vivencias de las mujeres. ¿Cuáles son los efectos reales de los agrotóxicos y quiénes son las víctimas directas de su uso? ¿Cómo podemos desafiar la narrativa hegemónica que minimiza los impactos de los agrotóxicos en la salud y amplificar las voces de las personas afectadas?
