The Power of Storytelling: Youth Voices for Disarmament

Through its #Youth4Disarmament initiative, the United Nations Office for Disarmament Affairs (UNODA) seeks to engage, educate and empower young people to facilitate their meaningful contribution to disarmament efforts.#Youth4Disarmament will hold an event on 20 March, 9 am – 10 am ET, to celebrate and promote the first dedicated publication of the initiative entitled, “B flat ♭ , B sharp ♯ , Be inspired – Voices of Youth”. The publication includes stories from youth on why the work of disarmament is critical to building peace and how they are helping to put the field forward, while encouraging more young people to share their experiences as agents of change for disarmament.The event will consist of a roundtable discussion with youth authors, as well as interventions from distinguished speakers. The event will provide a platform for youth voices to be heard, inspire intergenerational action, and highlight entry points into disarmament affairs for young people.
